ការប្រៀបធៀប (Comparatives) ប្រើដើម្បីប្រៀបធៀបរបស់ពីរ។ ឧត្តមភាព (Superlatives) ប្រើដើម្បីនិយាយថាអ្វីដែលជាងគេបំផុត។ ភាសាខ្មែរប្រើ "ជាង" (ជាង) សម្រាប់ការប្រៀបធៀប ដែលស្រដៀងនឹង "than" ក្នុងអង់ក្លេស។
Comparative — គុណនាមខ្លី + -er
សម្រាប់គុណនាមខ្លី (1-2 ព្យាង្គ) បន្ថែម -er រួចបន្ថែម than។ ឧទាហរណ៍: tall → taller, fast → faster។
ប្រធាន + is/are + គុណនាម + -er + than + នាម
Dara is taller than Sokha.

សម្រាប់គុណនាមវែង (3+ ព្យាង្គ) ប្រើ more + គុណនាម + than។ ឧទាហរណ៍: beautiful → more beautiful, expensive → more expensive។
