នៅពេលយើងរាយការណ៍អំពីអ្វីដែលនរណាម្នាក់បាននិយាយ យើងប្រើ 'said (that)' ហើយប្តូរកាលកិរិយាស័ព្ទទៅអតីតកាល។ ឧទាហរណ៍ Direct: "I am happy." → Reported: He said (that) he was happy.
សុន្ទរកថាប្រយោល៖ ប្រយោគថ្លែង
នៅពេលយើងរាយការណ៍អំពីអ្វីដែលនរណាម្នាក់បាននិយាយ យើងប្រើ 'said (that)' ហើយប្តូរកាលកិរិយាស័ព្ទទៅអតីតកាល។ ឧទាហរណ៍ Direct: "I am happy." → Reported: He said (that) he was happy.

He said that he was tired.
គាត់បាននិយាយថា គាត់នឿយហត់។
She said that she liked the movie.
នាងបាននិយាយថា នាងចូលចិត្តខ្សែភាពយន្តនោះ។

នៅពេលរាយការណ៍សំណួរ យើងប្រើ 'asked if/whether' សម្រាប់សំណួរ Yes/No និង 'asked + wh-word' សម្រាប់សំណួរ wh-។ ចំណាំ៖ លំដាប់ពាក្យប្តូរទៅជាលំដាប់ប្រយោគធម្មតា (មិនមែនលំដាប់សំណួរទេ)។

He asked if I was coming to the party.
គាត់បានសួរថាតើខ្ញុំមកពិធីជប់លៀងដែរឬទេ។

នៅពេលរាយការណ៍សំណើ ឬបញ្ជា យើងប្រើ 'told/asked + someone + to + verb'។ សម្រាប់បញ្ជាអវិជ្ជមាន ប្រើ 'told + someone + not to + verb'។
