Conditionals (if)
အခြေအနေဝါကျ (Conditional) ကို 'အကယ်၍…ဆိုလျှင်' ဆိုတဲ့ အဓိပ္ပာယ်နဲ့ သုံးပါတယ်။ if ဝါကျအပိုင်းနဲ့ ရလဒ်ဝါကျအပိုင်း ပါဝင်ပါတယ်။ Type 0, 1, 2 ရှိပါတယ်။
Zero & First Conditional
Zero Conditional: အမြဲ မှန်တဲ့ အချက်အလက် (If + present, present)။ First Conditional: ဖြစ်နိုင်ချေ ရှိတဲ့ အနာဂတ် (If + present, will + V)။
If you heat water, it boils. (Zero)
ရေကို အပူပေးရင် ဆူတယ်။
If it rains, I will stay home. (First)
မိုးရွာရင် ငါ အိမ်မှာ နေမယ်။
If you study hard, you will pass.
ကြိုးစားပြီး စာကျက်ရင် အောင်မယ်။
Second Conditional (သိန္နိယ)
Second Conditional ကို လက်ရှိ ဖြစ်နိုင်ချေ နည်းတဲ့ အရာ သို့မဟုတ် စိတ်ကူးယဉ်ခြင်းအတွက် သုံးတယ်။ If + past simple, would + V ပုံစံ။
If I were rich, I would travel the world.
ငါ ချမ်းသာရင် ကမ္ဘာတစ်ပတ် ခရီးသွားမယ်။
If I had wings, I would fly.
ငါ့မှာ အတောင်ရှိရင် ပျံသန်းမယ်။
If she were here, she would help us.
သူမ ဒီမှာ ရှိရင် ငါတို့ကို ကူညီမယ်။
မြန်မာစာနှင့် နှိုင်းယှဉ်ချက်
- ●မြန်မာစာမှာ '…ရင်' ဟု if ကို ဖော်ပြပါတယ်။ 'မိုးရွာရင် ငါ အိမ်မှာနေမယ်' ← ဒါက First Conditional။
- ●Second Conditional မှာ if ရဲ့နောက်မှာ past tense သုံးပေမယ့် အတိတ် အဓိပ္ပာယ် မဟုတ်ပါ။ 'ငါ ချမ်းသာရင်' ← ယခု ချမ်းသာမှု မရှိခြင်းကို ဖော်ပြတယ်။
Common Mistakes
If it will rain, I stay home.
If it rains, I will stay home.
if ရဲ့ နောက်မှာ will မထည့်ရပါ။ present tense သုံးပါ။
If I was a bird, I will fly.
If I were a bird, I would fly.
Second Conditional မှာ were သုံးပြီး would + V သုံးရပါတယ်။
