Prepositions
పూర్వ సర్గలు (prepositions) నామవాచకం ముందు ఉంచి స్థలం, సమయం, దిశ వంటి సంబంధాలను చెప్పే పదాలు. in (లోపల), on (మీద), at (దగ్గర), to (వైపుకు), from (నుండి). తెలుగులో '-లో', '-మీద', '-దగ్గర' వంటి విభక్తి ప్రత్యయాలు ఇదే పని చేస్తాయి.
స్థల పూర్వ సర్గలు (in, on, at)
in = లోపల (in the room, in Japan). on = మీద (on the table, on Monday). at = నిర్దిష్ట స్థలం/బిందువు (at the station, at 3 o'clock).
She is in the kitchen.
ఆమె వంటగదిలో ఉంది.
The book is on the desk.
పుస్తకం డెస్క్ మీద ఉంది.
I am at the bus stop.
నేను బస్ స్టాప్ దగ్గర ఉన్నాను.
We live in Tokyo.
మేము టోక్యోలో ఉంటాము.
The picture is on the wall.
చిత్రం గోడ మీద ఉంది.

in = పెద్ద (in Japan), on = ఉపరితలం (on the table), at = బిందువు (at school). సమయం: in the morning, on Monday, at 3 o'clock.
దిశ మరియు సమయ పూర్వ సర్గలు
to = వైపుకు (go to school). from = నుండి (from Tokyo). for = కోసం/కాలం (for 3 hours). by = ద్వారా/లోపల (by bus, by Monday).
I go to school by bus.
నేను బస్సులో స్కూలుకు వెళ్తాను.
She came from Osaka.
ఆమె ఒసాకా నుండి వచ్చింది.
I studied for two hours.
నేను రెండు గంటలు చదివాను.
Please finish by Friday.

తెలుగు మరియు ఆంగ్లం తేడాలు
- ●తెలుగులో విభక్తి ప్రత్యయాలు ('-లో', '-మీద', '-కు') నామం తర్వాత వస్తాయి. ఆంగ్లంలో prepositions నామం ముందు వస్తాయి.
- ●తెలుగు 'టేబుల్ మీద' = ఆంగ్లం 'on the table'. క్రమం తిరగబడుతుంది.
- ●తెలుగు '-నుండి' = from. '-వరకు' = to/until. '-ద్వారా' = by.
- ●in/on/at తేడా తెలుగులో లేదు — అన్నీ '-లో' లేదా '-దగ్గర' తో చెప్తారు.
Common Mistakes
I arrived to the school at Monday.
I arrived at the school on Monday.
చేరుకోవడం = arrive at. రోజు = on Monday.
She is in home.
She is at home.
home తో 'at home' వాడతారు, 'in home' కాదు.
