There is / There are
ఏదైనా ఉనికిని చెప్పడానికి there is (ఏకవచనం) / there are (బహువచనం) వాడతారు. 'టేబుల్ మీద ఒక పుస్తకం ఉంది' = 'There is a book on the table.' తెలుగులో 'ఉంది/ఉన్నాయి' ఆంగ్ల there is/are కి సమానం.

ఒకటి ఉన్నప్పుడు there is (there's). రెండు లేదా ఎక్కువ ఉన్నప్పుడు there are. తర్వాత నామవాచకం వస్తుంది.
There is + ఏకవచన నామం / There are + బహువచన నామం
There is a cat under the table.
టేబుల్ కింద ఒక పిల్లి ఉంది.
There are three books on the desk.
డెస్క్ మీద మూడు పుస్తకాలు ఉన్నాయి.

There is + a/an/ఏకవచనం. There are + సంఖ్య/some/many + బహువచనం. లెక్కించలేనివి (milk, water) తో there is వాడతారు.
తెలుగు మరియు ఆంగ్లం తేడాలు
- ●తెలుగులో 'ఒక పిల్లి ఉంది' — 'there' లాంటి ప్రత్యేక పదం అవసరం లేదు. ఆంగ్లంలో 'There is' తప్పనిసరి.
- ●తెలుగులో 'ఉంది' ఏకవచన/బహువచన రెండింటికీ వాడవచ్చు. ఆంగ్లంలో is/are వేరు చేయాలి.
- ●ప్రశ్నలో: తెలుగు 'ఉందా?', ఆంగ్లం 'Is there...?'
