Prepositional Idioms ऐसे विशेषण/क्रिया + पूर्वसर्ग संयोजन हैं जिन्हें याद रखना ज़रूरी है — 'interested in' (में रुचि), 'good at' (में अच्छा), 'afraid of' (से डरना)। हिंदी के 'में, से, को, पर' अंग्रेज़ी के in, of, at, for से मेल नहीं खाते — इसलिए ये विशेष रूप से कठिन हैं।
विशेषण + पूर्वसर्ग
कई विशेषणों के बाद निश्चित पूर्वसर्ग आता है।
She is good at math.
वह गणित में अच्छी है। (good at)

सामान्य ग़लतियाँ: हिंदी पूर्वसर्ग ≠ अंग्रेज़ी पूर्वसर्ग
हिंदी का 'में/से/को' अंग्रेज़ी के in/from/to से सीधे नहीं बदलता।
She is married to him. (married to ✅, married with ❌)
उसकी उससे शादी हुई है।
I am used to hot weather. (used to ✅, used with ❌)
मुझे गर्मी की आदत है।
It depends on the situation. (depend on ✅, depend of ❌)
यह स्थिति पर निर्भर करता है।
I am fond of music. (fond of ✅, fond with ❌)
मुझे संगीत बहुत पसंद है।
हिन्दी और अंग्रेज़ी में अंतर
- ●हिंदी में 'गणित में अच्छी' → अंग्रेज़ी में 'good at' (in नहीं)।
- ●'से डर' → 'afraid of' (from नहीं)।
- ●'पर निर्भर' → 'depend on' (at नहीं)।
- ●हिंदी के परसर्ग और अंग्रेज़ी के prepositions मेल नहीं खाते — इसलिए इन्हें जोड़ी (pair) के रूप में याद करना ज़रूरी है।

good at (in नहीं) — हिंदी 'में' = अंग्रेज़ी 'at' (यहाँ)।
