'So...that' और 'Such...that' परिणाम (result) बताने के लिए प्रयोग होते हैं — 'The food was so spicy that I couldn't eat it' (खाना इतना तीखा था कि मैं नहीं खा पाया)। 'so' विशेषण/क्रियाविशेषण के साथ, 'such' संज्ञा के साथ प्रयोग होता है।

so + विशेषण/क्रियाविशेषण + that

'so' + adj/adv + 'that' + परिणाम वाक्य।

It was so hot that we stayed inside.

इतनी गर्मी थी कि हम अंदर ही रहे।

She sings so well that everyone loves her.

वह इतना अच्छा गाती है कि सबको पसंद है।

He was so tired that he fell asleep immediately.

वह इतना थका हुआ था कि तुरंत सो गया।

The movie was so boring that I left early.

फ़िल्म इतनी उबाऊ थी कि मैं जल्दी चला गया।

such + (a/an) + विशेषण + संज्ञा + that

'such' + (a/an) + adj + noun + 'that' + परिणाम।

It was such a beautiful day that we went to the park.

इतना सुंदर दिन था कि हम पार्क गए।

She is such a kind person that everyone likes her.

वह इतनी दयालु है कि सब उसे पसंद करते हैं।

It was such delicious food that I ate too much.

इतना स्वादिष्ट खाना था कि मैंने बहुत ज़्यादा खा लिया।

They are such good students that the teacher is proud.

so vs such: कब कौन सा?

so + विशेषण/क्रियाविशेषण (बिना संज्ञा)। such + (a/an) + विशेषण + संज्ञा।

The tea was so hot. (so + adj)

चाय इतनी गर्म थी।

It was such hot tea. (such + adj + noun)

इतनी गर्म चाय थी।

He drives so fast. (so + adv)

वह इतनी तेज़ चलाता है।

He is such a fast driver. (such + a + adj + noun)

वह इतना तेज़ ड्राइवर है।

हिन्दी और अंग्रेज़ी में अंतर

  • हिंदी में 'इतना...कि' (इतना गर्म कि, इतनी अच्छी कि) अंग्रेज़ी के so...that / such...that से सीधे मेल खाता है।
  • हिंदी में 'इतना/इतनी' दोनों रूपों के लिए काम करता है।

संज्ञा (day) के साथ → such (not so): such a beautiful day।

बिना संज्ञा (only adj) → so nice (not such)।
