Past Perfect
အတိတ်ပြီးပြည့်စုံကာလ (Past Perfect) ကို အတိတ်က အချိန်တစ်ခုထက် အရင်ပြီးသွားတဲ့ အရာကို ဖော်ပြဖို့ သုံးပါတယ်။ 'had + past participle' ပုံစံနဲ့ ရေးပါတယ်။ ဥပမာ 'I had finished my homework before dinner.' (ညစာ မစားခင် ငါ အိမ်စာ ပြီးသွားခဲ့ပြီ)

ကတ္တားအားလုံးနဲ့ had ကို သုံးပါတယ် (I had, she had, they had)။ had ရဲ့ နောက်မှာ past participle (V3) ထည့်ပါတယ်။
S + had + V3 (past participle)
I had eaten before she came.
သူမ မလာခင် ငါ စားပြီးသွားခဲ့ပြီ။
She had studied hard, so she passed.
သူမ ကြိုးစားပြီး စာကျက်ခဲ့တယ်၊ ဒါကြောင့် အောင်ခဲ့တယ်။
They had left when I arrived.
ငါ ရောက်တဲ့အခါ သူတို့ ထွက်သွားခဲ့ပြီ။
before / after / by the time နဲ့ တွဲသုံးခြင်း
before (…မတိုင်ခင်)၊ after (…ပြီးနောက်)၊ by the time (…ချိန်မှာ) တို့နဲ့ တွဲသုံးပါတယ်။ 'By the time we arrived, the movie had started.' (ငါတို့ ရောက်ချိန်မှာ ရုပ်ရှင် စထားပြီ)
Before I went to bed, I had brushed my teeth.
အိပ်ရာမဝင်ခင် ငါ သွားတိုက်ထားပြီ။
After she had finished, she went home.
သူမ ပြီးသွားပြီးတော့ အိမ်ပြန်ခဲ့တယ်။
By the time we got there, it had stopped raining.
ငါတို့ ရောက်ချိန်မှာ မိုး ရပ်သွားခဲ့ပြီ။
မြန်မာစာနှင့် နှိုင်းယှဉ်ချက်
- ●မြန်မာစာမှာ '…ပြီးသွားခဲ့ပြီ' '…ထားပြီ' ဟု ပြောပြီး အချိန်ဆက်နွယ်မှုကို ဖော်ပြပါတယ်။ အင်္ဂလိပ်စာမှာ had + V3 ဟု ပုံစံတကျ ရေးရပါတယ်။
- ●မြန်မာစာမှာ '…ခင်' '…ပြီးတော့' ဆိုတဲ့ စကားလုံးနဲ့ အချိန်ဆွဲဖြတ် ဖော်ပြပါတယ်။ before/after နဲ့ ဆင်တူပါတယ်။
Common Mistakes

had နောက်မှာ past participle (V3) ဖြစ်တဲ့ eaten ထည့်ရပါတယ်။ ate က V2 ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
She had went to school.
She had gone to school.
go ရဲ့ V3 က gone ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ went က V2 ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
