Phrasal verbs అంటే 'verb + preposition/adverb' కలిసి ఒక కొత్త అర్థం ఇచ్చే పదబంధాలు. 'get up' (లేవు), 'look for' (వెతుకు), 'give up' (వదిలేయు) వంటివి. ఒక్కొక్క phrasal verb కు ప్రత్యేక అర్థం ఉంటుంది — verb మరియు preposition విడివిడిగా అర్థం చేసుకుంటే కుదరదు!

'look' తో వచ్చే phrasal verbs — వెతకడం, చూడడం సంబంధిత అర్థాలు.

నేను నా తాళాలు వెతుకుతున్నాను.

జాగ్రత్త! కారు వస్తోంది!

Separable vs Inseparable
కొన్ని phrasal verbs ను విడదీయవచ్చు (separable), కొన్నింటిని విడదీయలేరు (inseparable).
Turn off the light. / Turn the light off. (separable)
లైట్ ఆపు. (verb + object + particle — విడదీయవచ్చు)
Turn it off. (pronoun must go in the middle)
దాన్ని ఆపు. (pronoun ఉంటే మధ్యలో ఉండాలి)
I'm looking for my pen. (inseparable)
నేను నా పెన్ వెతుకుతున్నాను. (విడదీయలేరు)
She takes after her mother. (inseparable)
ఆమె తన అమ్మ లాగా ఉంటుంది. (విడదీయలేరు)

- ●తెలుగులో phrasal verbs వంటి concept లేదు — ఒక్కొక్క అర్థానికి ఒక్కొక్క క్రియ ఉంటుంది ('లేవు', 'వెతుకు', 'వదిలేయు'). ఇంగ్లీష్లో 'get' ఒక్కటి 'get up' (లేవు), 'get on' (ఎక్కు), 'get off' (దిగు), 'get along' (కలిసి ఉండు) — ఇన్ని అర్థాలు ఇస్తుంది!

'look' మాత్రమే 'చూడు' అర్థం. 'look for' అంటే 'వెతుకు'. 'for' మర్చిపోకూడదు.
