Reported Speech (Maganar Rahoto) ana amfani da shi don ba da rahoton abin da wani ya faɗa ba tare da amfani da kalmominsa kai tsaye ba. 'She said, "I am happy"' (kai tsaye) → 'She said that she was happy' (rahoto). A Hausa, 'ta ce tana farin ciki' shine siffar rahoto. Koyon Reported Speech yana da muhimmanci don ba da labari, ba da rahoto, da rubuce-rubuce a Turanci.
Canza Lokaci (Tense Change)
A Reported Speech, ana canza lokacin fi'ili zuwa baya: Present → Past, Past → Past Perfect, will → would.
"I am tired." → She said she was tired.
"Ina gajiya." → Ta ce tana gajiya.
"I like suya." → He said he liked suya.
"Ina son suya." → Ya ce yana son suya.
"I will come tomorrow." → She said she would come the next day.
"Zan zo gobe." → Ta ce za ta zo washegari.
"I went to Kano." → He said he had gone to Kano.
"Na tafi Kano." → Ya ce ya tafi Kano.

Canza Kalmomi (Word Changes)
Baya ga fi'ili, wasu kalmomi ma suna canzawa: I → he/she, today → that day, here → there, tomorrow → the next day.
"I am here today." → She said she was there that day.
"Ina nan yau." → Ta ce tana can wancan rana.
"I will call you tomorrow." → He said he would call me the next day.
"Zan kira ka gobe." → Ya ce zai kira ni washegari.
"This is my book." → She said that was her book.
"Wannan littafina ne." → Ta ce wancan littafinta ne.
"We came here yesterday." → They said they had gone there the day before.
"Mun zo nan jiya." → Sun ce sun tafi can kwana ɗaya da ya wuce.
Reported Questions (Tambayoyin Rahoto)
Don ba da rahoton tambaya, ana amfani da 'asked if/whether' (Eh/A'a) ko 'asked + kalmar tambaya' (Wh-). Tsarin ya canza zuwa na yau da kullum.
"Are you hungry?" → She asked if I was hungry.
"Kana jin yunwa?" → Ta tambaye ni ko ina jin yunwa.
"Where do you live?" → He asked where I lived.
"Ina kake zaune?" → Ya tambaye ni inda nake zaune.
"Can you help me?" → She asked if I could help her.
"Za ka iya taimake ni?" → Ta tambaye ni ko zan iya taimake ta.
"What time is it?" → He asked what time it was.
"Ƙarfe nawa ne?" → Ya tambayi ƙarfe nawa ne.
Bambancin Hausa da Turanci
- ●A Hausa, Reported Speech ya fi sauƙi — 'ya ce ya tafi' ba ya buƙatar canza lokaci sosai kamar Turanci.
- ●A Turanci, dole ne a canza lokaci na fi'ili, pronouns, da kalmomi na wuri/lokaci. A Hausa, canja-canjen sun fi ƙanƙanta.
- ●A Turanci, 'asked if/whether' don tambayoyin Eh/A'a ya yi kama da 'ya tambayi ko...' na Hausa.
Common Mistakes
She said she is tired.
She said she was tired.
A Reported Speech, 'am' ya canza zuwa 'was' — ba 'She said she is tired' ba (a al'ada).
He asked did I like football.
He asked if I liked football.
Tambayar rahoto: 'asked if' + tsari na yau da kullum — ba 'asked did I like' ba.
