Participles (-ing / -ed as Adjectives)
Participles (-ing और -ed रूप) विशेषण के रूप में प्रयोग होते हैं। 'The movie is boring' (फ़िल्म उबाऊ है — -ing = कारण बनने वाला) vs 'I am bored' (मैं ऊब गया — -ed = प्रभावित)। यह अंतर बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है और सीखने वालों से अक्सर ग़लती होती है।

-ing विशेषण उस चीज़/व्यक्ति का वर्णन करता है जो भावना का कारण है।
The book is interesting.
किताब रोचक है। (किताब कारण है)
The movie was boring.
फ़िल्म उबाऊ थी। (फ़िल्म कारण है)
The game is exciting.

हिन्दी और अंग्रेज़ी में अंतर
- ●हिंदी में '-ने वाला' (चौंकाने वाला = surprising) और '-ा हुआ' (चौंका हुआ = surprised) अंग्रेज़ी के -ing / -ed से मेल खाता है।
- ●हिंदी में यह अंतर प्रत्यय से स्पष्ट होता है।
Common Mistakes

I am bored.
'I am boring' = मैं उबाऊ हूँ (दूसरों को उबाता हूँ)। 'I am bored' = मैं ऊब गया हूँ।

किताब (कारण) → -ing: interesting। 'interested' व्यक्ति के लिए।
