မေးခွန်းစာလုံးများ (question words) ကို Wh-question words ဟုလည်း ခေါ်ပါတယ်။ What (ဘာ)၊ Who (ဘယ်သူ)၊ Where (ဘယ်နေရာ)၊ When (ဘယ်အချိန်)၊ Why (ဘာကြောင့်)၊ How (ဘယ်လို) တို့ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ Yes/No မေးခွန်းနှင့် မတူဘဲ အသေးစိတ်အချက်အလက် မေးသော မေးခွန်းများ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ မြန်မာစာတွင် မေးခွန်းစကားကို ဝါကျအလယ်/အဆုံးတွင် ထည့်သော်လည်း အင်္ဂလိပ်စာတွင် ဝါကျအစတွင် ထည့်ရပါတယ်။

How ကို နည်းလမ်း/ပုံစံ/အခြေအနေ မေးရာတွင် သုံးပါတယ်။ "ဘယ်လို" "ဘယ်နည်းနဲ့" ဟု အဓိပ္ပာယ်ရပါတယ်။ How are you? (နေကောင်းလား?) သည် နေ့စဉ် အသုံးအများဆုံး How မေးခွန်း ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
